WASHINGTON – Award-winning journalist Jeffrey Goldberg will join the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace as a Visiting Distinguished Fellow in September 2016. During his nine-month fellowship, Goldberg will work on his forthcoming book on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.
Goldberg has served as national correspondent for the Atlantic magazine since 2007 and is a recipient of the National Magazine Award for Reporting. His recent cover story, “The Obama Doctrine,” which built on extensive interviews with U.S. President Barack Obama, is broadly acknowledged to be the most comprehensive and insightful account of the president’s foreign policy vision. Goldberg has written widely on U.S. foreign policy and Middle East politics. Prior to joining the Atlantic, he served as Middle East correspondent, and Washington correspondent at the New Yorker. He is also the author of Prisoners: A Story of Friendship and Terror (Vintage Books, 2008).
